I'm sure many of you already know about the late Aussie superstar, Crocodile Hunter Steve Irwin.
Of course, when I told some people they were like "huh who's that..". Not ignorant lah, but sheesh, even as a kid I watched him take down the toughest of crocs and just risk his life every day.
Freaky thing is just a few weeks ago when I was just watching one of his series, "New Breed Vets", he was laughing about it saying that if one day he
did happen to pass away, people
are going to say "I knew it!! He had it coming to him one of these days!"
After he said that, I pondered over it and wondered how many people would actually be shocked if it happened, and if people actually
would say that about his death.
My family did, actually. >_> But they're almost always this cynical, so I shan't really bother. I know like 80% of the community think the same way and although sure, I never fancied much of his shows, but the cause of his doing is indeed, noble. You don't always see people go out of their way to relocate an animal (have 13 men jump on croc's back just to keep it from chewing everyone's heads off), but I guess Steve Irwin just does it all.
I'm still stunned.. Suffering a stingray barb through the chest is nothing pretty. In the line of environmentalism, I think he's one of the greatest along with the many others, although probably next to the awesome Sir David Attenborough.
His death was expected, but somehow.. surprising. I just wish it didn't have to happen while he was on the line of duty.
I hope everything goes well for the Irwins. :(
